31 weeks

Well, my belly is growing, but no, we have not decided on a name just yet.

What else, let's see... Our lamaze classes begin in mid-January, I passed the gestational diabetes lab test (woohoo!), and I haven't weighed myself in a while but I think so far I've gained about 30 pounds maybe? My baby shower, at my Mom's in South Florida, is next weekend! and I'm really looking forward to seeing some people I haven't seen in a while!

The above left photo is from a month ago but now my belly is bigger than that. I'm pretty sure she's going to be a soccer player because the girl is kicking under my ribcage everyday. And the picture on the right is Phil, sitting in what will someday be the nursery, building the crib his parents got for us. : )

So since my last post, Ruth and Gerardo upholstered Ruth's baby chair and it looks so beautiful! We have all the furniture except for a rocking/glider chair, we painted the nursery light blue, and we have been doing a lot of home renovation, landscaping, painting, stuff like that because we want everything to be perfect for when she arrives. Also we know that once she's here, none of that stuff will ever get done. Just a prediction.

How your baby's growing:

Our baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. She's around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana.

the things no one tells you about pregnancy

• lots of sneezing
• runny nose
• dizziness, loss of balance
• brownish spots randomly appear on your skin
• air pockets and cramps in joints you never knew you had
• cramps in your abdomen
• stretch mark prevention cream is $70 (YEA)
• so far this whole "craving" idea is as good as mythological to me
  

17 weeks

I changed doctors so that I can deliver at a really, really good hospital, Winnie Palmer. And after seeing the ultrasound, we discovered that we're actually two weeks further along than we thought!!! My new due date is February 21st.

I have to change the format of the ultrasound picture before I can upload it. But stay tuned!

13 weeks

So, according to BabyCenter.com, our baby now has fingerprints and is three inches long-- like a little shrimp! : ) Hard to believe there's really a human being in my belly. Kind of sci-fi when you think about it...

Getting My Bump!!!

Went to the doctor's office and heard the baby's heartbeat!! Next week I'm going back to get more blood work done-- ugh. 

BUT we also get our first ultrasound on Thursday!!! I'll be sure to post it soon! : )

Week 8

The rumors are true!! We are having a baby and we could not be more excited! Just eight weeks into the pregnancy and we are already getting impatient. 

So, to answer some FAQ's:

1. No vomiting so far. *Knock on wood!* I feel pretty good as long as I eat healthy. 

2. Yes, I am taking a prenatal vitamin. 

3. No, I'm not eating sushi, deli meat, hot dogs, cookie dough, or doing any hardcore drugs. Ya happy?! : ) 

4. Yes, I am most definitely going to breast feed.  

5. YES I am definitely going to want to know the sex of the baby. I want to know as much about him or her as possible. And, lets be honest, I want to start shopping!

6. I did obtain a copy of, "What to Expect When Expecting."

7. I have been to my first appointment and I have 7 OB doctors to meet over the course of my pregnancy and one will be the delivery doc, depending who is on call.

8. We are taking name suggestions so feel free to post your ideas!  

9. I kinda thought it was a boy... but now I have no idea!  

10. And, lastly, yes! You may tell everyone! The news is pretty much out.. except for a few girlfriends I haven't been able to reach personally yet. (sorry girls you are just SO hard to reach!)

Other than sore breasts and a little fainting episode at the blood lab last week (nearly broke my nose in the process), everything has been pretty smooth.
